The Mysteries

The definition of ‘Mysteries’ is 2-fold. It applies to dramas of a religious nature which represented sacred history & the lives of the saints (medieval mystery plays). The older usage refers to certain sacred rites of Egypt & Greece. But occult tradition speaks of certain Mysteries stretching back into prehistoric time. This essay considers the spiritual nature of mankind in light of these traditions.
