Colonel Powell was the compiler of an immensely popular series of compilations from the writings of Annie Besant & C W Leadbeater. This later work draws instead from contemporary scientific sources and more traditional Eastern inspirations such ad ‘The Bhagavad Gita’ and the Buddhist 4 Noble Truths. A theoretical section – ‘Know Thyself’ – sets out the basis for work, whilst the practical part – entertainingly called ‘Behave Thyself’ – presents a practical approach which focuses on many practical tips and hints at how to approach a spiritual way of living.
